Good Practise

The safety of children is paramount and all reasonable methods are employed to insure that the activities we provide are safe for children, to do this we promote best practise for shows and workshops.

DBS Checks & Public Liability Insurance & Risk Assessments

Circus Tutors/Coaches are DBS checked. Circus Coaches hold public liability insurance up to 5 million, are trained and experienced at delivering Circus Shows or activities. Coaches conduct themselves professionally and work well with young people. They plan activities based on age, space, experience, ability, adult; child ration and skills / equipment they hold. We expect all coaches to risk assess activities and these are available on request. We also expect all coaches to adhere to our Safeguarding Policy.

Performers (who do not lead circus workshops) and Circus Assistants under current legislation do not need to be DBS checked as they are not on their own with children & do not work with the same children in an ongoing capacity
